Aurelie’s Gunsmoke Princess - “Dylan”
August 6, 2007 - June 25, 2021
Today I said goodbye to one of the sweetest and bravest dogs on the face of this earth. For the past 14 years, she’s been a constant companion and friend. I adored her, and I’m pretty sure she adored me. She followed me everywhere.
Dylan was always extremely fearful, but always willing to put aside her fears to do whatever I asked her to do. I learned so much from her. I learned that sometimes if you just try something you fear, you might actually enjoy it. I learned that you don’t have to be the prettiest to be happy. I learned that someone you really don’t like at first, could turn out to be a really good friend.
Louis C.K. once said that bringing home a puppy is a “countdown to sorrow”. While that may be true, I wouldn’t trade my years with Dylan for anything. The sorrow I feel now is incomparable to the joy and laughter she brought me. The memories we made in the last 14 years will always be with me.
Rest in peace Dyls. Run free with all of your friends. Say hi to Dinah. Enjoy your new life free from pain, fear and with all of your friends. Say hi to Dinah. Enjoy your new life free from pain, fear and without limitations. And thank you. Simply thank you for giving me your heart and trusting me. And please remember that I love you now and forever.
