Remembering Nox. My 6 year old, 20lb black Panther. 💜
Nox was special...I had his name picked out before I even found someone with black kittens
For those familiar with the Harry Potter franchise, Nox is the incantation said to distinguish your wands light. (It is also the Latin word for Night)
When I moved out of my parents home and got my first apartment, I knew I wanted a companion, so I picked Nox...or rather.....he picked me.
I originally thought I wanted one if his long haired siblings....but Nox chose me. He climbed into the crate and laid down and started to play with the fish toy I brought. So it was decided. He was mine.
Nox loved being held. He loved giving headbutts. Not normal cat headbutts, but almost break your nose ones, completely full of love. He loved my hair ties and would play fetch with them. He always laid funny on the arms of the couch. Like how a jungle cat would lay on a tree branch. He only liked seafood flavored cat food.
He loved to try and steal sips of my husband's tea when we weren't looking.
He loved going outside and laying in the sun.
We had to make the hard choice to put him down, after a trip to the vet for blood work, that revealed he was in extreme kidney failure.
I will never forget him, and the love, comfort, joy, and friendship he gave me for the 6 years of his life.
I love you Nox. 💜
